Climate change….really?

I’ve told you that I’m not the Science expert, so I lean on those who are.  On the Global Warming….whoops, forgot they changed that to Global Climate Change, I found this picture posted by Dr. Roy Spencer quite interesting.  All the various squiggly lines going rapidly north are the various assumptions and predictions by the “experts” on global warming (the same crowd Al Gore apparently relies on).   The darker squares moving slightly up is the actual data.

Hmmm….seems like something is wrong with the predictions.  If you want to read more about Dr. Spencer’s opinion (he calls the predictions an “epic fail”—looks to the untrained eye like he is right), you can click here.  In this post, he has another graphic that takes the squiggly lines and straightens them out which shows the linear temperature trend of the above data.  That graphic is below, but if you are interested, you should read his comments about it.  I will acknowledge that the actual data does show rising temperatures.  Dr. Spencer (and others) explain some analysis of that…not denying it, but rather suggesting that the actual science would show that the earth’s temperature has always risen and fallen (anyone else remember back in the ’70s when we were all alarmed with the coming new ice age).  you can search more on Dr. Spencer’s site for other graphs and information.  It’s all very “science-y,” so at times it goes over my head, but still I find his research compelling.

His last words are powerful and worth considering:

Hundreds of millions of dollars that have gone into the expensive climate modelling enterprise has all but destroyed governmental funding of research into natural sources of climate change. For years the modelers have maintained that there is no such thing as natural climate change…yet they now, ironically, have to invoke natural climate forces to explain why surface warming has essentially stopped in the last 15 years!

Forgive me if I sound frustrated, but we scientists who still believe that climate change can also be naturally forced have been virtually cut out of funding and publication by the ‘humans-cause-everything-bad-that-happens’ juggernaut. The public who funds their work will not stand for their willful blindness much longer.
